Communication Policy
Outside of consultation times most communications between doctor and patient occurs via reception staff. This can be by phone, fax, email or at front desk. Messages for the doctors are recorded in our system on a daily task list.
SMS reminders are sent for upcoming appointments. Please advise reception staff if you would like to receive these. Patients may choose to opt out if they wish.

Feedback
Staff at Dickson GP are committed to quality patient care. A form is available at the front desk for patients wanting to provide feedback (compliments, complaints, suggestions).
Alternatively, you can contact the ACT Human rights commission on 6205 2222 or at hrcintake@act.gov.au or contact Ahpra on 1300 419 495 or make a complaint via Ahpra’s website.
Home Visits and Residential Aged care
Unfortunately, Doctors at DGP had to cease providing care to Residential Aged care patients from 1st June 2022 as it was not viable.
Occasional home visits could be considered under special circumstances, under ongoing care of an existing patient whose conditions prevent them from attending the surgery.
Walk-in appointments
DGP uses a booking system for normal operations. We are not a ‘walk in’ clinic. Any patients who attend without an appointment will be triaged and emergency situations will be accommodated.
